Julie Aguilera, the founder of JuJu’s Decorative Art, has been hand-painting baby shoes for friends for many years. Those friends began commissioning handpainted, designer boys shoes and one-of-a-kind shoes for baby girls. These friends gave them as baby gifts to their friends, and naturally the friends of the friends wanted a pair of shoes, too! The word-of-mouth marketing worked so effectively that Julie decided to legally set up and expand her business by offering her unique, custom painted shoes via this website. She also has plans to grow the business by offering the hand-painted shoes for wholesale and to retailers to make them even more accessible. She has donated several pairs for charity auctions, which very happily made a lot of money for the charity! Another avenue Julie may go down is to offer clothing and matching shoes for babies on this website. She’s already received many special requests to paint shoes that match specific outfits, and is pleased to offer that service upon special request.
Julie also enjoys painting birdhouses, especially those with themes such as gardens, flowers, and holidays such as Halloween and Christmas. Additionally, she likes to decoupage as well as paint wooden trays, aluminum containers, and various articles of glass (vases, bowls, etc.) to give as gifts. Because she is such a fan of everything Christmas, she does lean towards creating holiday gifts. Eventually, she would like to expand that part of the business by offering a variety of hand-made items on this website.
